DIY kitchen spray

This DIY cleaning spray was so simple to make! It used the following ingredients…

  • Water
  • Vinegar
  • Orange essential oil
  • Dried lavender (optional)

I had a 500 ml amber glass spray bottle from Baldwin&co which I filled up to halfway with cleaning white vinegar (I got about 1.5L for about £1.80 from the twin larder stall) and then topped up with water until I filled up the bottle. I then added a couple of teaspoons of dried lavender and around 10 drops of orange essential oil. If you want to try making this, the dried lavender is not compulsory and you can use whatever essential oil you fancy!

This spray smells quite vinegary - I’m hoping that the smell of lavender will infuse into it over time but we’ll see. Online I’ve seen people infuse vinegar with orange or lemon peel to change the smell. Think I will try this another time!

As a cleaner, it seems to work pretty well, and it was so cheap and easy to do - overall it cost around 30p to make 500ml! Will definitely be making one for the bathroom too.
